Child safety a concern

SHAH ALAM- Parents are becoming more concern in their child’s safety, due to the rise of the missing child cases which is on the rise lately.
According to kindergarten administrator and co-ordinator, Miss Mala, more parents call the kindergarten daily to check on their child’s well-being as well as informing the teachers if something comes up such as someone else’s going to pick their children up from the kindergarten.
In addition, more parents are doing the regular monitor in the kindergarten compound to check on their child’s safety as well as ensuring that all main gates are locked up to avoid strangers from entering the area.
This outcome is a positive
response taken by parents to ensure their child in the right and safe hands.
Mala, who is an experienced teacher for the pre-schooler has welcomed the parents’ concern as it is best to avoid worse things from happening due to the parent’s negligence on their child.
“It is also their responsibilities to not let their children to roam freely in public places like shopping complexes as they are oblivious to those who might have ill intentions towards them,” added Mala.
The teachers in the kindergarten also agreed with Mala’s view, as they believe that besides educating the children on safety measures, it is the responsibilities of the parents to know about their child’s whereabouts and to keep a close monitor on them.
However, the teachers said that society must play their part as well,
especially the neighbors to look out for the children, so that the parents could be alerted if something wrong is happening to a child.
